Kestopuu recycling facility locates in Tuulos commune (100 km north from Helsinki). The Kestopuu recycling terminal is receiving and storing pressure-impregnated timber removed from use. The facility was granted the environmental license by the Häme Environmental Centre and the construction work of the terminal was completed at the end of July 2004.

At the terminal timber is stored on an asphalt-paved storage area of 7 hectares. The terminal has two buildings: a hall for storing of woodchips, and an office and maintenance building. The chipped pressure-impregnated timber is stored at the woodchip hall. The surface area of the hall is 2000 square metres, and the height of the hall is nearly twenty metres.

The terminal is authorised to process 40 000 tons of pressure-impregnated timber per year. Crushed wood chips are delivered to an incineration plant that has been granted the necessary licenses for incineration of timber.

Terminal is open monday-friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
